Finished TEFL, Can't Sleep, and the Best News Ever!

Today is the day I finally finished my online TEFL (Teaching English as a Foriegn Language) Course. My god, was it time consuming. I am just waiting for my official certificate. The first major thing to be crossed off my list.

Next, my car lease, which is why I can't sleep. I have a feeling that I am going to lose some serious dinero on this deal. I spoke to a friend whose Dad is a car salesman and she told me to get down there at the end of the month and hope they will buy it back at a minimal loss to me. I guess the end of the month is the best time and the sooner the better she advised. She informed me that it's best to turn it in now, than to pay for the next 4 months and lose even more money. I agree...it makes sense... plus I found out that I am not allowed to have someone change the lease into their name (my original plan). This Sunday is the day, I am going to get my fine piece of machinery detailed, waxed, and oil changed and see what they tell me...stressful. I love that car. I guess I will have to rely on my bike from now on. Good thing work is close to home.

I saved the best for last. I met a girl around my age, named Katie, in Guanajuato when I was there for Thanksgiving. She is from the United States and just got a job teaching Art and English at an elementary school. She also started an Art Ed. Program for underpriviledged girls in Mexico and sells her photographs of the city. And by the power of Facebook I have kept in touch with her and today she offered Nicole and I her place (in the photo above) in Guanajuato for the month of July and half of August. Actually, she said stay as long as you'd like. She said she'd help us get on our feet during our first week and then she plans to travel for a month or so. We just need to watch her dogs (there's one on the right) and we get to stay free of charge. I was so happy to hear it I was jumping around my house. This takes away so much of the axiety I was feeling about having the time to find the proper place. I understand that I am moving to Mexico and want to get to know some of the neighborhoods and talk with the people about the best and safest place to live. This gives us over a month to search for the perfect home. And it looks like rent is only going to run us around $100 a month each. The most exciting part about Katie offering us her home is that we will have an instant friend with all of the same interests as us. She just moved to Gto. this year so she will be able to help us with the move big time. Katie says it's a big culture shock but of course it will be...that's the point.
